We went in search of an "of the beaten path" BBQ joint for our quick trip to Kansas City... And we found a gem! Luck for us we were there on a Saturday night before 8pm and we had cash in hand! (Friday-Sunday only and cash or check only) We made our own "sampler platter " with the pulled pork, ribs and brisket. All were delicious, and the Cole slaw and potato salad were perfect compliments. There was no wait time and the help/owners were soooo nice and helpful!
It was a beautiful drive to a quiet part of Missouri we might have never seen or tasted! Well worth the drive!! -

This is our favorite ribs place. I was completely bummed when someone chose to drive their car thru the front door and they were closed for awhile. However, the fact that they reopened and I got a birthday lunch here was a highlight. The slab of baby back ribs are to die for and I'm usually not really a rib girl. I have recently gone mostly vegetarian but these ribs will conquer my vegetarian ways! I really like the cole slaw too. I wish I could review other menu items but I always get the ribs because they make me happy. This place is well worth the drive and the service is great. I l i'll ke the casual, country feel of this place. Just check the hours as they are only open on weekends.

We got here about 45 min before they close and they didn't fret at all. They were super friendly and clean. The food was good. Will be back. Would have liked to have a beer but other than that no complaints!

Small old building that used to be an old grocery store. Pretty clean and well taken care of. The kitchen is IMMACULATE!!!! Not a spot in the whole place. Bathrooms were pretty clean, men's smelt a little.
The pulled pork is really moist and decadent. I had to ask for buns, bcuz they don't serve bread. All the sides are sold separately. The ribs were burnt and dry, the potato salad is excellent. The BBQ beans are great. It's an ok place to eat but seriously leaves you wanting. It's to be expected since it's the ONLY BBQ place in Grain valley....(area code).
I'll stick to my Joes of KC -

I stopped going to them cause the old owners were rude alot of times...but they had great sauces, probably the best baked beans in metro area, brisket was good.
I understand they got bought out..so I went the other day. I don't like the sauces as well as I used to. The baked beans were average as well was the brisket.
I won't go back. Nothing killer about the food or place..too bad! I had high hopes since the old owners were gone and their sh_tie attitude with with them.
